Fast on the Day of Arafat!

I'm back home and very excited about it. It was a fun week in Santa Clara!

I just want to remind everyone that tomorrow is the Day or Arafat. And, though it sucks that most of us are not making Hajj, we can still get lots and lots of ajar, inshallah.

It is HIGHLY recommended to fast on the Day or Arafat for the people who are not at Hajj.

"Fasting on the day of 'Arafa is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of 'Ashurah is an expiation for the year preceding it."
-Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him

The Prophet told the Muslims, "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja)." Then some companions of the Prophet said, "Not even Jihad?" He replied, "Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things."

So, Inshallah let's all try to fast tomorrow (Nov. 15) and get as much ajar as possible.

May Allah (swt) accept out fasts and deeds and forgive our sins. Ameen!

Until next time...

  1. Dear sister,
looking forward to fast tomorrow. I also posted nearly the same on my blog few minutes ago :-D

  2. Is it advised to fast only on that? coz most muslims say they should fast for 2 days coz jews fast for 1 day!
